When adding the Apsolute Thermal Inkjet Printer, to our portfolio of products, we reinforced that, when we supply a system, whichever technology it employs, it had deliver a high quality mark and be clean and convenient to use. Talking to our customers through various surveys we realised that there were five key criteria that concerned them –giving birth to the concept of the 5 C's.
No.1 – Cleanliness
Spilt ink is unattractive, a hazard and costly to clean up. We only supply systems that are inherently clean and do not require any bulk fluids to be stored or poured.
No. 2 – Cost of Ownership
It’s not a good feeling to have to pay through the nose for spares or service engineers or expensive consumables, just to keep a line running. We look at total cost of ownership and strive, whichever technology, to drive down the cost per 1000 prints.
No 3 – Clarity
There’s not much point printing something if it can’t be read, but it’s surprising how many codes are barely legible either through poor printing or having been rubbed away before the end of the product’s life. All Rotech coding technologies are clear and durable.
No. 4 – Convenience
Coding systems that require constant attention to keep them running waste valuable production time. All Rotech systems are robust and capable of putting in a full day’s work.
No. 5 – Compliance
Codes are coming under ever more scrutiny by OCV and OCR systems that soon pick holes in a deficient coding system. 2D Data Matrix bar codes are becoming more widely adopted and the legislation governing how well they are printed more stringent. Only high-resolution technologies (such as those offered by Rotech) can meet these requirements.
