The Application:
The customer packages agro-food powders in PE drums and metal boxes (primary packaging) on conveying systems running at a line speeds of 15 m/min.
Customer Need:
The customer had one CIJ Linx series 4000, one Domino Solo 6 and one DOD large character Matthews with alcohol based ink.
The customer has two production lines (one for the drums and one for the metal boxes) which 20 meters far from each other in addition the solution needed to be able to print an expiry date and batch number onto both drums and lids.
Finally, due to the powder the coding environment is very dusty so the customer wanted to improve reliability of any equipment in this area.
Apsolute solution:
1 stand alone apsolute Dynamic with 2 heads and 2 groups: 1 group/head per production line both driven by the same controller.

Competition:
To code on lids, the customer was using a Matthews machine with alcohol based ink. But they wanted a new marking solution as this machine was dirty because of ink leakages.
The Linx 4000 series was used to code on drums. Because of its cost of ownership the customer investigated the apsolute solution.

The same controller with two heads could do the job of two CIJ printers with no maintenance and higher reliability,
